CHARACTER ANIMATOR

We are looking for a Character Animator to join our small but vibrant art team in Brighton.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for creation and integration of character animations in the engine
• Work in close collaboration with the art director, game designers and programmers to understand the quality objectives, gameplay intentions and engine capacities in order to anticipate the in-game look of the animations
• Quickly prototype and previsualize animation systems and ideas
• Meet work targets and milestone deliverables in a full production environment

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED                                                                      
• Proven ability working on character games with a stylized aesthetic
• Strong understanding of animation, including both acting/dialogue expression and locomotion, and how it applies to gameplay
• Knowledge of Maya, and at least basic understanding of Rigging, Mel, Python, Ridged body dynamics etc.
• Strong written/verbal communication skills
• Demonstrable time management and organisation skills
• Enthusiastic team player, positive and outgoing personality
• A creative thinker with strong problem solving skills

BONUS SKILLS
• A First or 2:1 in Fine Art, Computer Animation, Digital Media Design or other relevant subject
• Exceptional generalist knowledge of Maya, Rigging, Mel, Python, Ridged body dynamics etc.
• A generalist creative and technical skillset that reaches beyond the remit of animation
• A passion for video games, art and a commitment to personal development

ENVIRONMENT ARTIST

We are looking for a multi-skilled 3D environment artist to join our small but vibrant team in Brighton for a ten-month contract role.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Create set piece puzzle and gameplay elements from concept through to in-game implementation
• Help create and furnish our world with props and modular assets
• Work with the Art team to maintain consistency through the game world
• Work with the Design team to ensure game-flow is optimal
• Optimise art assets for engine performance
• Meet work targets and milestone deliverables in a full production environment

SKILLS & EXPERTISE REQUIRED
• Fine Art, Game/3d Art, Digital Media Design or relevant degree
• Proven ability working on games with a stylised aesthetic
• A great eye for detail and a natural flair for composition and colour
• Good understanding of Software packages such as Maya, Modo, Z-brush and Substance and Unity game engine
• A great showreel or portfolio of work
• Thorough knowledge of and experience with Adobe Photoshop
• A generalist creative and technical skillset that reaches beyond the remit of environment art creation
• Demonstrable time management and organisation skills
• Enthusiastic team player, positive and outgoing personality
• A passion for video games and art
• A creative thinker with strong problem solving skills
